Welcome!!

Hi, i'd like to use this introductory post to welcome you to my blog and explain a few things about my intentions, and what's to come on this site.

So, welcome to my film review blog!

Right, now that's sorted...here's a little information about how my film reviews will work.

I will – at least, at first – be splitting my reviews into three categories: Reviews, Re-Views and Feature Reviews.

Reviews will be my standard review format; a short summary of a movie and my feelings towards it. I'll usually avoid going into too much detail on any one subject if I can help it (I do have a tendency to ramble).

Re-Views will be much the same, except with older movies (1980 or earlier). There will be special emphasis given on whether I feel the film has stood the test of time, why it was important in its day (if it was) and the reasoning for me reaching these conclusions.

Feature Reviews will be considerably longer and more in depth. Concentrating on every aspect of a film. From discussing the actors individually, to the soundtrack, production design and any symbolic or metaphorical merit the film may have.

Feature Reviews will be less regular and I'll usually only do them on movies which I'm particularly fond of. Although, I may take requests if/when the blog picks up enough followers and if enough people want to read them.

If you'd like to know a little about my interest in films I do have a bit of information on my 'About the Blog' page. And, very soon I'll be adding another sub page to the, 'About the Blog' menu which will be for discussing my favourite actors, actresses, directors and films. This will hopefully give you a better insight into what I look for and enjoy.

I'll also be implementing a "Coming Soon" page which I will use to detail any near future plans (when I will be watching certain films, when reviews should be due out, etc).

Although I am primarily doing this as a hobby; as someone who loves film, it would be great to have as many of you as possible join me.
